Many of our magazine readers comment that repertoire lists that we provide on specific subjects are helpful. In the September/October, 1987, issue emphasizing congregational involvement, we included a list of 90 favorites from several music directors who have long-supported the use of such anthems. Final Thoughts

As you can see by the names of the composers, this article is from a time when things were different. But the music featured in this list is "classic" in mnay ways (not done the John Ness Beck Psalm XLVI? Start working on it now!...oops sorry, just my opinion!), and deserves a closer look. For those of you who are relatively "new" to being a church musician or your particular place of service, check your choral library to see if any of these great pieces are there. If so, pull them out and take a look at them...it could be one of the greatest acts of stewardship you perform during 2010.
