Good Morning.

Monday Morning Email readership continues to grow. We now have over 2350 members of the Creator Leadership Network and I want to thank you for being a part of our network of musicians helping musicians do our ministry better. When we started this resource a little more than a year ago, I had no idea we would grow so large so fast, and I appreciate the confidence and trust you have in our ability to serve you and your ministry. We're here to help, if we can...so let us know if there is so ...

Where are we headed?
Doug Lawrence's "Let's be honest..." Blog By Doug Lawrence on10/20/2008 3:03 PM

I am not a theologian. I am not a seminary graduate. Take what I say from the standpoint of a wounded, imperfect, and sinful human being to whom God has been gracious through more than 40 years of church leadership. I don‘t stand on my credentials— ...

Good Morning.

This week I am really excited. But it is that kind of excited that comes with planting rather than harvesting. Here at Creatorland last week we saw significant progress on a number of different things that will eventually allow us to serve you better. None of them are visible yet, but we hope that we'll be able to announce one of them no later than next Monday. If we dot the i's and cross the t's this week, I'll let you know by posting to the MMEBlog.

One of the things that is not v ...

Good Morning.

Rod Ellis, Pastor of Worship and Arts at Memorial Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky, and an editor for a time at Creator, produces a weekly email newsletter for his "flock" of artists and musicians. Last week's caught my eye, and I thought I'd reproduce part of it here. I reprint it not to be self-serving, but to remind everyone that even if we/you ARE a pastor, you also HAVE a pastor [if you don't, think seriously about why you don't, and if your "only" pastor is the one you ...

Just read Randy Vader's new "Thinking on these Things" and I must say I think it is valuable advice for all of us in leadership, and strikes home particularly now in the current "political" environment. If you haven't read it, click here. If/when you have read it, let me know what you think, by leaving a comment here.

Good Morning.

You know what they say. Into each life a little rain must fall, and sure enough, last Saturday, it rained for a while here in Pismo Beach. It doesn't rain much in these parts (not many people know that much of California, if allowed to revert to a "native" state, would be, without our extensive interlocking irrigation systems, essentially desert), perhaps 10-12 inches per year, and most of that typically falls in February. As it happens, we had a guest staying with us for part of the weekend...someone who recently moved to the ...

Good Morning.

I never cease to be amazed at the wonders of the internet. Now before you go all wiki on me, I know that not everything on the internet is good. What is the line from the old Marvin Gaye song I heard it through the grapevine: "Believe half of what you see; some and none of what you hear." Probably good advice, especially for those of you who reside in the US in the fall of years divisible by 4. By the way, if you are old enough to remember those old tv performances where the singer is all alone on the stage/set but the whole t ...

I just finished writing Monday Morning Email for next Monday. Here's a little taste to whet your appetite...

When you publish something, it goes with the territory that you will get unsolicited manuscripts. Unsolicited manuscripts are one of those good news/bad news things. The good news is that people think you are publishing something worthwhile. The bad news is that one person's "worthwhile" is another person's...um...garbage. So here at Creator ...

Good Morning.

Time flies. (Well, to be completely accurate, it doesn't, but it just seems that way.) At the risk of stating the obvious, there is a reason for that, which I'm happy to relate. Let's get into the Way Back machine and remember Christmas when you were 10 years old. (If that is a painful memory for you, I apologize...this is only a test...pick any particular Christmas, birthday, or other recurring event from your childhood, and it will serve just as well). When you were 10, the year between Christmases was one tenth of your life. Ten percent. OK, ...
