Here's an update on CLN 2.0...
The response to last Wednesday's special email about CLN 2.0 has been amazing...so much so that we expect to fill our quota of beta testers by tomorrow. So we've decided to "close the door" on your opportunity to be a beta tester. We will stop taking applications when we reach our 250 goal or on Tuesday, September 15 at 5pm (Pacific), whichever comes first. If you have already signed up to be a beta tester, thank you. You'll be getting more information via email very soon...most likely on Wednesday of this week, but no later than Friday. If you haven't signed up, now's the time...if you want to help us serve you better, you'll need to register right now at
http://www.creatorleadershipnetwork.com/
When you get to the signup page, just enter your name and email address, and then hit the subscribe button. We're using what is called a "double opt in" so you'll get an email from the system with instructions you need to follow in order to confirm your participation. If you get there and there is no signup form, I apologize in advance for that fact that it means we have reached our 250 person limit.
In our regularly scheduled news...● Do you conduct an ensemble as part of your ministry? I'm going to blog about this in more detail at www.dotdotdtoblog.com as a follow up to my article The Choir in Modern Worship in the last issue of the magazine...but you'll be interested in seeing this link provided to us from our friends at The Singer Link: It is a philosophical/technical statement from Ricardo Muti about how he feels about conducting these days...click here to view the video.
● Take our survey please! I've decided to let each survey go two weeks rather than one, based upon the PC/Mac thing. Read the set up in the survey question box to see what we're doing...it is fun to watch how these weekly surveys play out. This is the second week for the topic: What is your church? Please go to our home page and take the survey, and check back at the end of the week to see what the results are.
● Website Login Information. You can always log in on the home page by looking in the upper right hand corner and clicking on the small white word: "login." You must log in to see our Select 20 anthem reviews. ● Vern Sanders also has a Blog! You can follow my excursions into all kinds of interesting topics by subscribing to my blog. Just go here. ● Train up your music/worship committee! Hugh Ballou has started a training site, and we've made arrangements so that you, as a CLN member, can get it almost free. Hugh's 3 week course is designed to turn any committee--even your church committee--into a high performance team in just 3 weeks! I can't imagine any church that wouldn't benefit from this training, and you can get it almost free by just entering the code "Creator" (without the quotes). Just go here and enter the code "Creator".
Remember.... ● Please become a fan of Creator on facebook! Please become a fan of Creator if you are a member of facebook. I'd appreciate it. ● The Creator Leadership Network has a group page on facebook! Please join the CLN group page on facebook too...
● Check our Worship Blog List! We've compiled.an extensive listing of worship blogs for our Creator Leadership Network members. These blogs are from people involved in thinking about and doing worship in a wide variety of environments: geographic as well as stylistically. It's easy: one click and read to your heart's content. Just click here and look in the left hand column.
● Article compilation CDs - We have 3 collections of back articles in pdf format on CD Rom. The Choir and Leadership collections ($19.95 each) contain over 40 articles, while the Worship collection ($24.95) contains 60 articles--that is less than 50 cents per article, post paid in the US. You can order them by clicking here and looking in the left hand column for "Featured Products."● Do you know about Lifewater International? Our friend Dan Stevens runs this great organization. Lifewater equips partner organizations and works with them to empower communities in developing countries to gain safe water, adequate sanitation, effective hygiene, and the knowledge of Jesus’ love. Check them out at www.lifewater.org, or email Dan for more information about how you can help at dstevens@lifewater.org. Tell him Vern sent you. In this week's MME...
● Hugh Ballou has three wonderful guest contributors: Garrett Gunderson asks whether or not it is selfish to put yourself first, Jeffrey Harlow discusses recruiting and keeping volunteers, and Brian Klemmer talks about empowering "Killer Sheep"...what? Yes, and Hugh contributes as well. To read MME, click here. This week, it is your last chance to be a beta tester for CLN 2.0...and please tell your friends and and colleagues about Creator, and MME too.
Blessings,
Vern Sanders
