Good Morning

Sorry that this is pushing the envelope of "morning" this week...with the holidays and some new additions to ourCreator website we've been working hard and it has taken longer than we expected.

I hope that each and every one of you had the best of Christmases, both at home and at your place of service. I'm always glad when the season is over, but it is such an important time in the calendar for the church and your community that I am willing to "take one for the team" at this time of year. Please, please, thank all of your staff and especially your volunteers. Their season has been almost (if not more) busy than yours and mine, and it is easy to forget during this "low" week that we couldn't "do" Christmas alone...

And now it is time to look a head toward 2010...

  • Two surveys this week! This is the last week for the topic: How do you feel about the Christmas season...? and the first week for the topic: At our church worship is planned by... Please go to our home page and take the survey, and check back at the end of the week to see what the results are.
  • Made any New Year's Resolutions? I have...and I'm not afraid to ask you to hold me accountable. You can read about my plans here, or get the whole story by starting the 3 part series here.
  • Speaking of the new year... Last year at this time, my MME was about Four Steps to Working Smarter. You can read about it here.
  • And speaking of planning... Last week Doug Lawrence'sMME on worship planning generated a lot of buzz. I hope you didn't miss it. If you did...go here.
  • Still not enough? In a new article on our website Martin Morley writes about Piecing Together Our Identity as church musicians and worship leaders. Check it out here.

We have been hearing from a lot of you that you'd like to listen to the streaming audio programs on theReverence channel , but you can't listen when some of them are scheduled. So this week, we're giving you an idea of when each program will appear. Each program runs at in both the AM and PM scheduled time. For a complete and most up-to-date broadcast schedule go here and bookmark the page.

Here are this week's scheduled programs (all times Pacific), starting with today's shows:

Host Stephen Bock interviews Bryan Jeffrey Leech.

Let Music Live! The Sacred Sounds Of Shawnee Press - Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday at 6 ~Thursday at 1
Joseph Martin hosts this look at new and best selling materials from Shawnee Press.

Remember...just click the Reverence Channel graphic on the new CLN website to hear the audio stream. Standard reminder about the Reverence Channel player: First, the initial time you use it, you may need to "refresh" (F5 key) once in order to get the audio. You'll know you will get the audio if you see the colored buttons (green for play, red for stop, and brown for mute...plus the two purple buttons which control the volume...). There is no need to hit the play button in most cases, the audio will start automatically once the player completely loads. Second, if you use a mac, you may need to download one or more programs: Silverlight (for the player) and Firefox (the preferred browser). Look for links to download these free programs on the home page and programs page.

In this week's Monday Morning Email...

  • So we've been talking about the new year and planning.... This week'sMME helps you plan your new year by providing a list of 90 pieces that include congregational participation. You can see the list by clicking here.

Finally...

This week, check your plan for 2010, perhaps make some resolutions...and please tell your friends and colleagues about Creatorand MME too
